Bruce Gandy Interview

Episode 10Pipers’ Persuasion met up with double Gold Medallist and composer Bruce Gandy during a busy week in Glasgow before the 2010 World Pipe Band Championships. Bruce has had a long and successful career in piping, with notable milestones including being a member of the 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band when they became the first overseas band to win the World Pipe Band Championships in 1987 and being one of a select group of pipers who have won Gold Medals both at the Argyllshire Gathering and the Northern Meeting. Now head piping instructor at the Halifax Citadel Regimental Association School of Piping & Drumming, Bruce relects upon his career and experiences in piping and some of his notable memories.
