John Wilson Interview

Episode 16 – We are joined for our sixteenth episode in the Pipers’ Persuasion series by John Wilson. John has led a very ‘full’ and one could argue ‘complete’ career in piping. A student of the great Donald MacLeod, John’s piping career progressed to numerous wins of the World Pipe Band Championships with Strathclyde Police Pipe Band under the stewardship of Ian McLellan BEM and solo wins of both Gold Medals at Oban and Inverness. Now retired from his career as a police officer, John adjudicates both pipe bands and soloists and is a regular anchorman on Radio Planetpipe.
