011: Mike Cusack

Mike Cusack Interview

Episode 11 – Mike Cusack from Houston, Texas met up with Pipers’ Persuasion during a month long visit to Scotland in with his teachers and students from St Thomas’ Episcopal School in August, 2010. One of the most decorated pipers ever to emerged from North America, Mike has enjoyed success upon success, winning both Argyllshire Gathering and Northern Meeting Gold Medals, the senior Piobaireachd at Oban, the Clasp at the Northern Meeting and the Bratach Gorm. Mike has also enjoyed good times in pipe bands as director of the world championship winning St Thomas’ Episcopal School Pipe Band. Mike’s experiences in piping are second to none and make enjoyable viewing indeed.
This interview even after some 5 years of them (60 currently) has always been a favourite of mine because of the sheer positive nature of Mike and in terms of information for the beginner onwards up to those aspiring to win prizes. And so, when viewing it I thought the video quality needed upgrading and this I’ve done using the latest editing suite.  This can now be viewed in 1080 on a big screen with enhanced colour and clarity.
